How so you make a model slipstream design of a passenger aircraft? I have to put it in a furnace pipe :/ HELP?
I am doing this project for my science class and i must design a wind tunnel to experiment the front end Slip stream design of one of todays passenger aircrafts. i know what a wind tunnel is and how to make one i just don't know how to make a model sized testable slip stream aircraft. Also my wind tunnel is not big it is a furnace pipe that has to fit a fan and has a window what do i do???????!!!!!!
Can you use a model or do you have to make it yourself? If you can use a model then go to a hobby store and buy a plastic one. You should be able to find something small enough to fit in the furnace pipe.
If you have to make it yourself I'd use a wooden dowel. If you have access to a lathe it shouldn't be too difficult to make the shape of the nose. The wings will be a challenge though. Keep in mind the wings are the most important part of an airplanes aerodynamics. A 1x4 and a wood plane or belt sanded would do the job if you have the patience to do it.
I'd stick with a plastic model if that is an option.
