How do i stroke\paddle for war canoe?
I really want to make war canoe next year for camp, but i need a little help with the stroking\paddling can someone please tell me how?
Grip paddle, twist torso moving feathered paddle forward, rotate blade so it is horizontal, dip paddle into water, pull on paddle by rotating torso. Stop stroke at hips and repeat. Stroke should be short. You should be pulling canoe to paddle. Stroke need be strong and vigorous. Do not pull with arms, use your torso. Relax your fingers and arms on return stroke.
