r6, gsxr, cbr or zx6r for my first bike?
I am a 16 year old kid and I'm looking to get a bike this month. I have a little bit of experience with dirtbikes ( nothing bigger than an xr100) but ive been riding quads a while. I know people say this is to much power but i dont see the big deal if i just drive around using low RPMS and avoid highways to start. I am trying to figure out which bike is best for me. I already figured out the cost of insurance(183/month) and i got plenty of money so thats not a problem. Any suggestions? I'm close to buying an 2006 raven r6 with 2000 miles in mint condition for 5gs ( an absolute steal)
I'm sorry to say it, but the last answerer was right.
I know you have the best of intentions but you will ride that bike faster than you should. You may start out with low revs, but they will creep up as you get more confident.
The problem is you become confident far faster than you become competent.
Motorbike are dangerous and the more powerful they are, the riskier.
I would say that if you are really committed to getting a powerful bike then buy the best helmet and safety great you can afford. If they don't save your life they might save your body. Motorcyclists aren't referred to as organ donors for nothing.
