see this is my problem with the democratic party. I've always been very libral, im for gay rights, legalization of marijuana etc. but one of the rights i think is important is peoples right to DEFEND THEMSELVES. i think it so important, I'm not voting for a democrat this year. but i hate republicains too so im just about screwed. there is a party that beleives in personal choice at all levels (drugs, guns, abortion, pornography, prostotution etc.) the libertarians. There are a few in office in Cali. I wont move back there because it's too restrictive, i love my hand gun and its 13 round clip (uh beter watch out, with those 3 extra rounds i could take out a whole police station, terminator style)
Other people have given great answer as to why they banned those weapons specifically. is a whip a beter weapon then a revolver? fuck no, can you "point" a whip at someone and say "give me all your money or ill use it"? no, if you point a chain at someone, your just going to confuse them. when was the last time you heard of some being killed with a mace?... last time i've *heard* of someone being killed with a mace was 500 years ago... like other people have said, there are ton of common items arround that are beter weapons then those are, the're just not as "cool looking"
i think all small arms and small explosive devices should be legal, all my friends think im nuts, but i dont really care.
on another note, thankfully the founding fathers had the foresight to put the3 words "arms" in the constitution and not "muskets" or we would have been screwed. But people stomp all over that law anyway saying it doesnt apply any more... just like other people say the geniva convention doesnt aply anymore... there all idiots, im disbanding and starting my own country, who's with me?... no one?
