The best color depends on what you want to the deck to do. Red and Green are the best colors to destroy your opponents quickly. Red spells deal direct damage and they have small chump creatures. Green is all about getting big creatures out quickly. You've got small elves and cards to get you mana quickly. Black is good for destroying the opponent's creatures and making them discard from their hand or deck. Blue is good to use if you want to control the game. There are many spells to counter his spells, take his creatures, and stuff like that. Its all about maintaining dominance and making him react to you rather than the other way around.
