Should I remove a 2ft wide Batman decal from the hood of my car before selling it?
I have a 2004 grey honda civic with a black batsymbol which covers the entire hood, this was an expensive custom made decal and i think looks great on the car, the question is should i remove it before i sell it or leave it on and just say i will remove it upon the buyers request?
The golden rule of selling a used car: The more you do to make the car "unique" the fewer people will want it after you. While you may think the batman logo is cool, you will turn off more buyers than you excite. Offering to remove it as a conditon of sale is not the best either. Your buyer has already seen that logo, and made a visceral, instant decision as to whether they like the car or not.
Take the logo off. But after you do that, be prepared to give the hood a good buffing and polish. That logo has stopped UV rays from getting to the paint underneath. So there will be a noticable outline where the logo area meets the exposed paint. Do a good buff and polish and it should bring back most of the exposed paint and make it look better.
