what type of sensor is in the air filter housing of bmw?
i have 94 325i sedan i wen to put cold air intake and the sensor in housing wont come off theres 1 bolt that keeps spinning so i'll just buy one but i dont know what the name is ..can some one help.....i was informed its not the air temp sensor
its the original sensor thats inside the air filter housing on the outside theres 2 hoses one a coolant line the other its proably air im not sure what type of line is it

is there another name for IAT ive looked for that part but im not finding it on a website so i can purchase it.....
It is indeed a intake air temp sensor. It's more of a valve. Both hoses you see attached to it are coolant hoses. This valve allows coolant in cold weather to flow through the throttle body to prevent throttle body icing. It closes up in hotter weather to slightly decrease air temps entering the intake manifold.
