Will synthetic genetics lead to SELF INDUCED EXTINCTION with artificial body parts replacement.?
As mapping of the human geneome is completed the next step will be to invent synthetic genetics which will lead to replacing natural human body parts with artificial ones thus prolonging life.
As this science evolves, more and more body parts will be replaced until the natural human body becomes a thing of the past.
New synthetic humans will be produced in a computerized chamber and not from a natural mother as we know it today.
At this point human evolution will be stopped thus giving rise to SELF INDUCED EXTINCTION of the natural human race.
A new generation of intellegent life forms will now populate the Earth thus producing computerized brains capable of receiving input from a mainframe computer to experiencing life...i.e. a beautiful Hawaiian vacation can be sent to the brain is microseconds rather than having to go there for a week thus giving rise to a VIRTUAL GENESIS.

Your vision is intriguing but, in my opinion, far from realistic technological possibilities of the middle-term future (say, one century). And the experience shows that making predictions for the long-term future almost always is a futile exercise.
However, I want to share for a minute your vision and spend a word about the apparent contradiction of what you call self-induced extinction, contradiction originating from the fact that Darwinian selection in a species is expected to work against the danger of extinction, while in this case it seems to work towards it.
The reason why I think this contradiction is only apparent is that human evolution is driven not only by genes (units of DNA information) but also by memes (units of cultural information).
If in the future the memetic contribution will outweigh the genetic one (which I think is a fair prediction, as we already have the signals, e.g. transplants or aesthetical surgery), then your self-extinction scenario is just a possible outcome of the present meme-gene co-evolution, within the classical Darwinian framework. The memes can indeed preserve themsleves to the genes' expenses. In other words, the human body may change but the human ideas will last.
In this sense, what you call "a new generation of intelligent forms" would be still us, in the deep sense that they will inherit our meme pool, which is ultimately what defines us as a species, in the rebalanced meme-gene scenario of yur prediction.
