What would be the drection of friction force on a box placed in a moving car? Explain it in detail thank u?
I want to know the direction of Friction force on a box placed in moving car i think it will be opposite but another person thinks it will be in the direciton How can it be in the direction of moving car???
if the car is moving forward the direction of the friction force would also be forward because the box, due to inertia, tends to move towards the back of the car. if the car is moving backwards the of the same force with backwards for the same reason. the friction force as a rule is oriented in the opposite direction in which a object is moved by another force. you can easilly see this in a car everyday. hope this helps you
