Remember the scene in "The Last Emporer" where little Pu Yi jumps up after squatting on a bowl, and then the bowl is quickly handed off to a poor chap whose job is to give the bowl a good sniffing and then declare a dietary recommendation for the young emporer: "More meat"?
I was wondering what the title of that official imperial position was, and what that art/science was, would be, or could be called. Was it simply a part of the imperial Physician's duties? ("Huh huh... er, um... she... said... dooties...")
Or was there a specific title for this official unique role of service to the emperor?

This was not actually a dietary choice but rather a taste choice (in that case probably based on personal taste).
