Is there a way for an optician to hide the thickness of lens though I chose the thickest plastic frames?
I also chose high index lens. I didn't get the lens polished to avoid that shiny look. But I still notice the white chalkiness around the edges and when I turn my head to the right or left you can tell that the lens are thick (looks like many layers of light bending).
there is not much you can do after the fact. It is always best to get a frame where your eye sits in the exact center of the frame, get the highest index aspheric lens you can afford (the better the lens, the more $ it is!) and get the highest quality anti refrective coating that they have available. getting a good frame that hides it is good too, other than that there is not much else you can do.
