What wages are paid to rural electric co-operative (REA) management staff.?
I have been assigned to find candidates for a general manager of our rural electric association (REA). Our present manager plans to retire soon and we would like to have ample time to interview qualified people for the position.
We would like to compare with other REA's similar to ours so we will be able present a compareable wage and benifit package to interested parties.
We serve portions of seven rural counties and have 4000 miles of distribution lines to maintain. We have 100 full time employees and 22,500 consumers to serve.
We have 10 management employees and 90 union represented employees. The journeyman lineman's wage is $30.00 per hour and all other wages are pro-rated from that wage. All vacations,medical etc. are the usual.

You need to look at job postings in other areas comparable to yours. Also, there may be labor settlements with your local department of labor that can offer guidance on "prevailing wage" standards.
