Does having to use a gas/oil mixture always mean that the engine is a two cycle engine?
I have an old Toro Snow Pup snowblower that requires oil/gas mixture. It states that you should use SAE 30 oil, but I've been told two cycle engine oil is better. Is that correct?
You can use either, but be sure that the viscosity is 30 SAE. The 2-stroke doesn't use most of the chemical additive package, as it would be burned in the combustion process.
Be very sure to mix the EXACT ratio for that motor, and not some generic, or "that's close enough" blend.
Keep the fuel mix fresh, and when the season is over, remove all of the fuel from the tank and run the rest out of the carburetor.
