What can I do for my husband to be a good army wife?
My husband is going into the army. He starts basic in under a month. I want to be there for him and support him in the ways that he needs me. What can I do for him to show my support for him and show him I am proud of him, and that I am behind him all the way?? We just got married 2 years ago and now have a beautiful 8 month old baby girl. I am nervous and scared, but I want to show him I am strong and supportive.
The first thing (and the hardest) to learn, is to accept the fact that the army always comes first. It will frustrate you at times and you need to learn not to take that frustration out on your hubby. I would recommend getting involved in a hobby or volunteer...something that is all your own. YOu do not want to be one of those wives who, when their husbands are away, have nothing to do and feel hopeless and lost without them. YOu will always miss him when he is away, but if you have something that can help you feel a little independent, it will make you less needy. Trust me, it makes things a lot easier on them mentally to know that their wife is back home and handling things without becoming a basket case.
