which is better rear deck or trunk for subs?
i have four 8'' rl-i soundsplinter sub in my trunk and want to save some space so if i put the subs on my rear deck and make a box using my rear deck with ports would they still slam hard or would i be better off keeping them in the trunk?
You can get good sound out of a box mounted to the rear deck of a car as long as you sound deaden the rear deck and cut the metal out where the port and subs will be. Just make sure your air space and port dimensions are accurate for best bass response. The subs firing off the back window will give you a good sound. The only down fall is the trunk will filter out some of the "muddy" bass sound that you might hear more of from the rear deck. If you are looking to save space you might try a sealed box due to sealed boxes using less air space but you might loose a little bottom end over the ported box
