Transmission fluid and filter replacement - how often should it be done and are there any signs you should?
I have 2002 VW Gold TDI automatic. THANKS.
Depends on who you talk to on how often. Most cars manufactures will say 30,000 mile, transmission shops will say less. I have seen cars with over 100,000 miles and the oil never changed. (car wore out before transmission) I just rebuilt the transmission in a van at 185,000 and fluid never changed... and that is in a Dodge. While I would recommend changing the oil, I cannot say when is best, but to keep a warranty in effect I would suggest what the car manufacture suggest.
