The rescued boys were part of a group 150 children brought to Chennai in 2006 by a priest called Paul, who had them put in a home near Red Hills. But since Paul could not mobilize funds, he sent the girls to a home in Bangalore and the 76 boys to his friend Shaji in Kanyakumari district.
