Cbr Engine in ATV?
I want to put a CBR 600RR Engine in a 4 wheeler or a sandrail most likely. I was wondering how hard of a process this would be. I am pretty mechanically inclined and I have a welder. What are some of the things that may give me a problem or any other tips will be very useful. Also any other swap ideas are welcome. Thanks!
I helped a friend swap a GSX-R 750 into a TRX frame. We had to cut the frame intot two pieces and make new sections to join the front and rear around the engine.
Had to fabricate a new fuel cell and put it under the seat and undertail section. The location of the stock tank was all full of airbox. We basically took ethe stock engine, exhaust, and cooling system and cut the four wheeler frame to fit around it and welded in new fabricated sections and mounting tabe to accomodate the stock motorcycle parts.
The only thing left was electrical components and we just stuffed them under the seats and some under th plastic where the gas tank would have been but was now mostly full of airbox.
Sine that time he has built at least three more. They are really cool and mostly useless bikes. I dare you to run one hard through fourth gear and even think of grabbing fifth or six. With wheelie bars the fourwheeler was walkin over GSX-r 1000s and Hyabusas at the drag strip.
