How does one go about searching and applying for a govt. job? Do you have to pay an agency for a kit?
When doing my searches on various sites, they all lead to a service that they want to charge me for. (application kits, manuals,etc). Is this the only way to apply for a govt. job or are there free methods? If I do have to pay an agency, can someone recommend a reputable one?
You can apply for free - go to http://www.usajobs.gov which is the official government jobs web site and lists all jobs available through the Federal government. Once you have found a job you want to apply for, you can follow the correct links to submit your application.
