Can I put 1996-2000 Chevrolet Vortech Heads on a 1995 Silverado?

I have a 1995 Silverado Z71 K1500 with 5.7L engine and I want to put port and polished Vortech heads on it along with roller lifters and rockers to bring horsepower up.

Yes, you can put Vortec heads on a non Vortec motor. the problem youwill run into is that the bolt pattern for the intake manifold is different on a Vortec than on a regular 350, so if you use Vortec heads you will also have to purchase an intake manifold that is compatible with them. To me it's not really worth doing. Since to use Vortec heads. you have to replace both the heads, and the intake, I would recommend going to Jegs.com and finding a good Edelbrock Performer head and intake package that will not only work well together, but will also provide a much better power increase, and won't cost that much more than the Vortec heads and compatible intake (unless you were gonna get them of an engine in the salvage). Since you have to remove the exhaust anyway to change your heads, I would also recommend getting a good set of Hedman, or Hooker headers for it as well. I have a 1990 GMC with the same 350 you have, and just adding a set of headers to my completely stock engine dropped my 1/4 mile time by over a third of a second. If you put them on a slightly modded engine you should see some great results.
