We had a major contract to supply custom parts to a customer using our specialty material. The job calls for laser cutting of sheet metal to size and shapes the customer wanted. We entrust the handling and laser cutting of our material to a local fabricator. They laser cut the parts but did not clean the pieces before stacking them into the packing crate. As a result, these laser cut pieces arrived at the customer with dents on the surface and was subsequently rejected. 72% of the parts were rejected due to their mishandling. My question is: Are they any type of lawyers that specializes in handling these cases?
This sounds like a basic business dispute arising from the contract between your company and the customer or between your company and the fabricator. You want a law firm that handles commercial contract disputes, and there are lots and lots and lots of such firms. Your local phone book should be full of them, but, as with mechanics, it is better to ask people you trust for a recommendation.
