I have a 7000 pound boat/trailer and need to know what size truck that I need in order to tow effectively?
I currently have a 5.7L 1990 Chevy 1500 4 x 4 and it seems to get bogged down if i go down the road and also seems that the thrmostat seems to exceed almost 3/4 of the temp gauge. I am not sure it the problem is that the truck is older or I need to get a heavier duty truck?
The truck size is fine. It's your cooling system that needs to be replaced or rebuilt. I pull my 8000# Boat with a 99 Silverado 5.3 2 wheel drive. It pulls great and the truck handles the weight great.
