What would be a good product/chemical to use in removing wax or sealant on a commercial tile bathroom floor?
I'm in sales and have a customer who wants to use our service in our pressure washing/sanitization of his tile bathroom floors, which have heavy traffic. We are not sure if someone put down a wax coating but we think it was some kind of floor sealant. The problem with it is that whoever sealed it didn't clean the floor first so we obviously cannot get to the dirt. Someone has suggested to me to used a methylene chloride based stripper. What would you advise and if you advise the said suggestion, where would I get it?
I'd sure be cautious with any Methylene Chloride! It is highly volatile and it is a carcinogen. Nasty stuff! I would first try a strong detergent and steam. Steam will loosen a lot of compounds that you wouldn't expect to respond to heat and water alone.
